Lost Mickeys

This page gathers together all the Mickeys that have been lost. This can happen at any time, but typically happens when a ride gets an overlay, is refurbished, or when it is replaced by something new.

Esplanade / Entrance / Downtown Disney

Lost	Just outside Entry Turnstile 8, among the rocks that are embedded in the cement on the ground, there is a grouping of three rocks that is undeniably a Mickey. To find it most easily, look for the 'stream' of concrete flowing away with rocks in it. Go two cracks towards Turnstile 8, then look at the right of this 'stream' (When facing the turnstiles) about 2 feet past the second crack. UPDATE: This Mickey was reported when the "CALIFORNIA" sign was still present, and may no longer be in the ground. LOST: This Mickey is definitely gone, probably when the "CALIFORNIA" sign was removed.

Lost	When you enter the park, there are ticket takers that let you in. Look where they are standing at about knee level. There is a speaker grid for the sound system which has Mickey for the hole designs. LOST: Disney has replaced the old turnstiles with plastic panels that open after you scan your pass. The old speakers are lost.

Lost	In the Marceline's Confectionery store in Downtown Disney, the bottom serif of the "M" in Marceline's and the two serfs of the "C" in Confectiony form a Mickey. LOST: Marceline's has been replaced with the candy equivalent of "The Wonderful World Of Sweets", and it's HUGE. It's like the candy store equivalent of the Disney Store. Anyway, Marceline's has been shuttered, and I'm afraid the Mickey in the sign is now lost.

Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln

Lost	In the exit lobby, on the mural to the left of the reservation center, there is a picture of Walt. Just to the right of Walt is a globe with mouse ears. LOST:  The mural is no longer there, and has been replaced with the picture of Walt walking into Fantasyland before the park opened.

Lost	This one is really real and intentional. Towards the end of Mr. Lincoln, the clouds on the left form Mickey's head with facial feaures. The cast member who turned on the show announced this, and everyone saw it. WISHFUL:  On the left side, there is an eagle that appears. This has always been here, but I haven't seen a Mickey in this. UPDATE:  I know that there once was a Mickey in the clouds, but now it seems to be an eagle. The only explanation is that there are two versions of the lighting. LOST: It's not a Mickey, it's not an eagle. As of 2024, it looks like the American flag.

Emporium

Lost

There are Hidden Mickeys carved in the Headless Mannequins. CONFIRMED: Inside the Emporium where they sell the golf shirts and other fine clothing is a chest only mannequin displaying a shirt. The hidden Mickey lies on the part where the neck would be if it was a full mannequin. I am not sure what shirt it was actually displaying but it is there. LOST: The mannequins no longer have the Mickeys in the neck.

Penny Arcade

Lost	In the Penny Arcade, they have an Esmarelda machine that, for a price, will tell you your fortune. In front of her, she has some cards laid out (a royal flush). They are Mickey Mouse cards! Actually, they have Minnie on them too, but still… LOST: The cards are no longer Mickey cards. They are generic Tarot cards.

Main Street Magic Shop

Lost	On the ceiling of the store are a bunch of cards. In the middle is the Ace of Clubs, but the center club is a Mickey head. This is the same Hidden Mickey as the Ace of Clubs in the Houdini display to the left of the store entrance. LOST: They repainted the ceiling, and while there are some cards up there, the Ace Of Clubs Mickey has been removed.

Plaza Inn

Lost

I ordered the Cobb Salad. The server took two small plastic cups and started ladling salad dressing into them. I thought, "Why are they giving me *two* cups of dressing?" She handed the cups off to another server, who put them on a plate, and tossed a large circular roll beneath and to the center of the two cups of dressing. I looked at the plate and just laughed out loud. I consider this a Hidden Mickey; it's not as obvious as the little Mickey chips they serve with sandwiches, and not everyone in my group could see it until I pointed it out.

Plaza Point

Lost	In the photo display are a couple of antique cameras with a Hidden Mickey on the front. They might have been moved from outside to behind the cash register inside the store. LOST: Plaza Point is now selling Christmas items, and no longer has anything to do with photography.

Fantasyland

Lost?	There's a Hidden Mickey on the Fantasyland mailbox, located across from Peter Pan. UPDATE: Here's a link for Mailboxes Of Disneyland. LOST: The mailbox has been removed. There are still several mailboxes, but not in Fantasyland.

Harbour Galley

Lost?

Walk to the back of the seafood shack towards the harbor. You'll see a big wall with a couple oars screwed into it. Follow this wall all the way to the back. If you look down at the bottom, you'll see a light brown wooden Mickey Mouse head screwed into the wall. CONFIRMED: Its located at the Columbia dock in front of Haunted Mansion. In the lower corner (about knee high), to the left of "Fowler's Inn", there's a hidden Mickey nailed to the wall. UPDATE: I think this Hidden Mickey is lost, I can't see the oars anywhere, and there's no Mickey heads at knee level near Fowler's Inn.

Splash Mountain

Lost

While in line for Splash Mountain, look at the top where people come down from the final drop. If you stand so that you are facing the drop look at the hole. The gigantic hole and two holes located directly next to it form a Hidden Mickey. CONFIRMED: The hole where you come out of at the top of Splash Mountain is cut to have a Mickey head as you look at it from the outside. LOST: Not sure if this is part of the Tiana's Adventure update, but this Hidden Mickey doesn't appear to exist any more. The big hole is there, but there are no other smaller holes to the sides.

Hollywood Land

Lost	Upon the entry of Hollywood Pictures Backlot, there are elephant statues above the entrance. There are three circles on the elephant's cheeks that form Hidden Mickeys. LOST: The elephants are no longer at the entrance. They were removed in 2016 as part of a Hollywood Land redesign.

Lost	Underneath the golden elephants flanking the entrance to the Hollywood Pictures Backlot, there is a little motif that runs around the edge of the blocks. Between the lions and atop a little wing design is a Hidden Mickey. LOST: No longer here, appears to have also been lost in 2016 as part of the redesign.

Tower Of Terror / Guardians Of The Galaxy

Lost

Pre Show, on the television. Little girl in the group is carrying a micky mouse Plush toy. CONFIRMED: On the Tower of Terror ride, the little girl in the video is holding a Mickey doll. I randomly saw it and accidentally blurted it out in the quiet, dark room, and everyone laughed. But most people went "oh yeah." Just to make sure I went on the ride 3 more times. UPDATE: In the 88 second library film, and where ever else you see her in the Tower of Terror, the little girl on the elevator is holding a plush Mickey Mouse doll. The little girl ghost is holding the very first Mickey doll ever made. You can clearly see it when the group in walking into the elevator. Also, when on the ride, the ghosts of the girl is still carrying the plush. LOST: This Mickey is lost due to the Guardians overlay.
